• Casey Lawrence, Graduate Student Intern

Casey Lawrence is a counseling student at Walden University, pursuing her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in History in 2016. She is a member of the American
Counseling Association, National Society of Leadership and Success, and Chi Sigma Iota National Honor Society. Casey is currently practicing under the supervision of Brianna Roberts, M.A., LPC.

Casey is also an elementary teacher. After her first year teaching 2nd grade in inner-city Houston, immediately following Hurricane Harvey, Casey knew she needed to be more than a teacher to her kids. The desire to connect further with the kids’ needs prompted her to enroll in her Counseling Master’s program. The skills she learned from this program allow her to connect on a deeper level with her students.

Casey provides counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. As a member of the LGBTQIAP+ community, she is passionate about working with them to help live a safe and happy life. Casey’s favorite methods are Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, therapy often used to deescalate and cope, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, restructuring of the brain, but will work based on the needs of her clients.
