• Guadalupe Ruiz, MS, LPC

    Guadalupe Ruiz is a counseling student at Emporia State University pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling. She intends to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. Guadalupe earned her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Emporia State University in 2019. She is currently practicing under the supervision of Kimberly S. Boyd, M.S., LPC-S. Guadalupe is a certified Mental Health First Aider. She is a student member in good standing with the American Counseling Association and a member of Psi Chi, the international Honor Society.

    Guadalupe utilizes an integrative approach of Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Solution-Focused. She believes in tailoring treatment to meet the client’s needs and goals. Establishing a therapeutic relationship is important to her as she believes it is the best way to truly understand the client and help facilitate positive changes in the client’s life. She does believe that the client plays an active role in their journey of healing to allow for the greatest growth and progress. Guadalupe strives to create a safe environment for the clients to feel confident in communicating their thoughts, feelings, and exploring self-awareness.

    Guadalupe provides counseling services to clients struggling with a variety of issues including, but not limited to: self-esteem, anxiety, depression, communication, trauma, gender identity, inter- and intrarpersonal skills, social skills, grief, and physical and sexual abuse. She has experience working with clients from a variety of multicultural backgrounds and is open to working with individuals of all ages, couples, and families.
