Melina Wilcox is an LPC Associate. Melina completed her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Sofia University. Melina is a certified meditation and mindfulness teacher. She under the supervision of Kimberly S. Boyd, M.S., LPC-S.
Melina creates a warm and welcoming environment for clients, she strives to promote a safe space for therapeutic processing. Melina utilizes a mindful-based, person-centered approach, assisting clients in whole-person healing and growth.
Melina has experience in coping with such issues as PTSD, trauma, sexual and other types of abuse, anxiety, depression, self-harm, grief, borderline personality disorders and sex therapy. Melina uses a holistic approach which begins with establishing a therapeutic relationship based on trust, honesty, empathy and collaboration. Interventions may include: DBT, Family Systems, Attachment, Trauma Focused, Existential, Somatic and Mindful Positive Psychology. She enjoys working with children of all ages, including infant mental health. She is a proponent of play therapy and uses a child centered approach when working with younger clients, in additional to psychoeducation with families.
Melina’s formal education and professional experience has prepared her to counsel individuals, groups, couples, families, adolescents and children. She welcomes all faiths, spiritual practices and backgrounds. Melina is invested in the well-being of her clients and looks forward to building a therapeutic relationship with individuals.
