Monique Y. Moss is a postgraduate student at Houston Baptist University pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Christian Counseling. Upon graduation, Monique intends to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. Monique also holds a Master of Education degree in Guidance and Counseling from Angelo State University, and she currently serves as a certified school counselor in the public school setting. She has experience with counseling children and adolescents from elementary through high school. She is also certified in Special Education for early childhood through high school in the State of Texas. Monique is currently practicing under the supervision of Kimberly Boyd, M.S., LPC-S.
Monique provides counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults through individual, couples, family, and group counseling. She provides counseling to those that struggle with a variety of challenges including, but not limited to, self-esteem, communication, depression, anxiety, anger, grief, trauma, and abuse (physical, psychological, and sexual). Monique also serves clients that seek counseling from a Christian perspective. She also has knowledge and experience with the sociocultural factors that impact the Black/African-American community.
Monique uses an integrated approach to counseling which includes a balance of Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Monique is also a member in good standing with the Texas Counseling Association.
